Beautifully handcrafted, each stitch of our Kantha hobo bag came from the hands of women working toward a better life.
Handmade by the women artisans of Blue Mango, an organization that supports disabled women in India by providing fair wages, free medical treatment, and retirement benefits. The cooperative is named for the variety of mango called 'neelam' that turns bluish on the edges before ripening into a golden yellow. The symbolism is a value that Blue Mango holds dear -- transformation and positive change. Blue Mango's objective is to run a sustainable business by and for marginalized women who are disabled, deserted, widowed, or living with AIDS.
