Our colorful dreamcatcher earrings, lovingly hand-crafted in Peru, use thread and glass beads with a surgical steel core for a jewelry accent that's modern yet rich in tradition and style.
Developed by the Ojibwa culture, the dreamcatcher, or bawaajige nagwaagan, is a charm that is hung above a bed to protect children from nightmares. Traditionally made of willow and sinew, they are meant to dry out and collapse by the time a child reaches the age of adulthood. This "dream snare" is a hoop, on which is woven a loose net or web, and then decorated with sacred items such as feathers and beads.
