You can help dogs in desperate need by contributing to end culling in Egypt.
Double YOUR Impact! A very generous donor is matching your donation dollar for dollar up to $10,000 to help save the dogs of Cairo.
In Egypt, the dog population has gotten out of control due to dogs being dumped on the streets. Some of these dogs are purebreds originally purchased as guard dogs who are left in the streets to fend for themselves after they're no longer "useful." The Egyptian government has taken the stance that the only way to control the dog population is through culling, selectively slaughtering the animals.
With your help, we can help put an end to culling and change lives like Bobi's (pictured right). Bobi was mutilated by a gang and left on the streets with part of a hind leg missing. Someone found him and brought him to a shelter. A surgery was performed and the wound partially healed. Eventually, through international rescue networking, Bobi was flown to Canada. He had a hard time learning how to trust humans again, but after passing through several foster homes, he found a forever home and bonded with them.
GreaterGood.org has partnered with Spay Neuter Initiatives Association and their partner Egyptian Society for Mercy for Animals (ESMA), to prove to Egyptian authorities that spay-neuter is a viable and humane way to control the feral dog population of Cairo. We believe that with aggressive spay/neuter activities, we can convince the Egyptian Government to halt any culling activities. The government has given ESMA only one year to prove that their program can be effective. With additional funding, we can continue this practice to control the situation. They are also transporting dogs out of Cairo for adoption to give them a second chance at living the life they deserve.
You can help. Just $10 transports one dog to the clinic to get spayed/neutered. You can help save the lives of dogs in Egypt and give them a second chance.
Spay Neuter Initiatives Association mission is to assist globally in controlling the population and street and feral dogs in Cairo Egypt. Let's protect our animals with planned pet hood. Every animal deserves to have a home and be loved and cared for. Spay Neuter Initiatives will do this by promoting the reduction of unwanted animals through safe sterilization.
